We Have a Plan!

I had my non-stress test (NST) this morning and I must say it was one of the most enjoyable tests I’ve had through this pregnancy. For those of you that don’t know you sit in a recliner chair and they monitor the baby’s heartbeat and the contractions. Honestly I haven’t really known what contractions should feel like. So when I saw the contractions number on the monitor increase, I got in tune with my body. I always thought it was just Peanut pushing on me really hard. Now I know it was a contraction. I had about 3-4 during the 30 minute period. Peanut’s heart rate was good and he was reacting perfectly to the contractions. My amniotic fluid was perfect as well. Hearing all this put my mind at ease.

I had an internal and am still 2.5cm dilated. It’s no change but I’m glad I’m at least dilated a little bit. They decided it would be best to do another ultrasound to get an idea of how big Peanut is right now.

So we went back and had an ultrasound this afternoon. Peanut’s head is measuring right on track which is comforting. His head was measuring big at our 36 week ultrasound. Based on measurements, right now he is 9 – 9 ½ lbs. A nice size boy! They said I still can potentially deliver this baby on my own which was great to hear.

So the game plan…and boy does it feel good to have one (my hubby and I are big time planners). I will go for another NST Friday morning, of course if something doesn’t happen before then. At that time, they would put me on the list to be induced next Monday or Tuesday, which I will be over 41 weeks. I’m glad they won’t make me go too much longer than that.

I could go into labor tonight, I just don’t know. Its Peanut’s decision right now. But I’m glad to have a game plan. I’m so thankful to have such good doctor’s looking out for me. They want to do what’s best for Peanut and I.

I promise to keep you all posted as much as possible. But hopefully within the next week, I will be holding my rainbow baby in my arms. What a wonderful feeling that is going to be.

  1. I hope you go into labor on your own, but glad you have a plan! It felt so good to have a "deadline" for Liam's arrival. :) And don't feel guilty if you're not on for a while! I'm just now catching up a little...
