I've gotten a couple of questions as to why I had to take the three hour glucose test even though I passed the one hour. And the reason? I was measuring 3 weeks ahead!
I was measuring 31 weeks at my 28 week ultrasound. They did an ultrasound to check on the ambiotic fluid which was good. Peanut was measuring abuot 30-31 weeks at that time. A big baby can mean gestational diabetes. Sometimes the 1 hour can give a false positive. They are just being cautious so wanted me to take the 3 hour to just be sure he is a big baby. I was 10lbs 8 oz when I was born so I think this kid is just going to be big.
So that is why I had it done. And it wasn't fun but worth it because I know its all for Peanut and his health.
Have a great weekend everyone!!

ReplyDeleteI have big babies too:) I was never a GD and my 2nd baby boy was 10lb 13 oz. Genetically, he was just big. But totally normal now. Sometimes it is just that way.
